Feather Belts!!!!!

i have been looking at belts for A/W 2010 and i feel that one of the key trends it is still going to be about fur, feathers and jewels.

From research i have carried out i feel that some of the key colours for A/W 2010 will be;
  • Green
  • Blue
  • Black
  • Purple
  • Pink
  • Grown
  • Black and White
  • Earth Grey

Most of these colour are in a Peacock feather so i feel that Designers and High Streets will take great inspiration from this.

This is a waist belt that Zara has introduced into their accessories range. It is made up of all different pats of the Peacock feather. You can pick it up from any Zara store from around £19.90. BARGAIN!!!!

Zara!!!!

I have been looking a lot into McQueen and i have been trying to find a high street brand that offers some unusual clothes like McQueen, but still follows all the key trends.

I came across Zara which i have to say i personally love. They have everything you need at such a good price. There items are of really good quality and you always know you will be able to fund what you are looking for.

Zara has three sections withing the clothing ares; Womens, Mens and Childrens. Everything is clearly laid out and for example the Women's section is divided into three further mini sections:

1. Basics- Here you will find all of your basic tops, jumpers, jeans e.c.t.

2. Teens- Here you will find party clothes, tracksuits (clothes for my age).

3. Women- Here you will find suits, skirts, evening clothes e.c.t.

When you walk into a Zara store you always feel that you are in an expensive designer shop (such as an Alexander McQueen store) maybe it is the layout, the shinny services or the high gloss campaign boards but when you go to Zara to shop it is much more of a relaxed enviroment and you don't have the 'rush' feeling. Whereas for example when you go shopping in New Look i always seem to come out stressed even if i have bought something really nice. One more thing when i shop in Zara i feel sophisticated but in New Look i always associate it with younger people and when i was a 14 year old girl buying clothes for my school disco.

Me, Myself and I

I have been trying to get some inspiration about how to do my blogs as i am very new to all of this....and i really want to get stuck in and make my blog work.

Looking at other people blogs, i can see that the main thing is to be honest and give my own opinion. Also looking at other blogs it shows that no opinion is a wrong opinion. The way i wrote my last blog, just didn't seem me and to me it just didn't work.....As in i want a blog that anyone can read and i also wanted a blog tat is relaxed. Such as i want to write how i think, so that maybe you the reader will get to know me a nit better and understand my, 'Views on Fashion' a bit better.

I thought i should tell you a bit about me; my name is Emily but like to be called Emmy. I'm currently a Fashion student- which i am loving and i am hoping to become a Fashion Buyer. The reason why i chose to aim to do this in life as my carrier is why any other person chooses to follow a carrier in Fashion......because you LOVE, LIVE and BREATH for FASHION.

I love Fashion because it not only allows you to express yourself, it also allows you to see other peoples Fashion and how they express themselves through their clothes.

I love the colour Coral- it is bright, loud, in your face, which is me own to a T. My other favourite is Animal Print- every other thing in my wardrobe has an animal print on it; from dresses to leggings and shoes to belts.......I LOVE IT!!! its cheeky, outgoing and sexiii!!!

This is a picture of some of my animal printed items in my wardrobe!!

My Fashion lecturer is unreal i love listening to her when she talks about Fashion, because she shows her passion for it even through the way she talks. You know when you meet someone who is so passionate about something and it gets you all exited when they talk about it, and it makes you so intrigued???? that's what she does to me.

One of my best girlies Annie she is so wacky and crazy, her clothes just match her personality! When people ask me about her, there is no way to describe her except as Annie!! She buys most of her clothes from Sweden or Norway just because then know one from around here will have anything the same in their wardrobe. She is an individual.....which ROCKS!!

(Annie in picture below)

I would love to be like that but I'm not. I would love to say that i am not a follower but i am. If i see someone wearing something that i love or if i see something in a magazine which i have to have i will go buy it. In my head i have so many Fashion dont's for me, but if someone else is doing my dont's i think it really works but i just couldn't pull it off!!!

Some of my Fashion dont's for me when i get ready:

~NO clashing colours in an outfit.

~No more than one pattern in an outfit.

~NO more than 3 colours can be used in an outfit.
~If I'm wearing a flowing/baggy top i have to wear a tight bottom, and if I'm wearing a tight top i would wear a flowing bottom.

~ Have to have shoes that match my outfit.

Looking at this list i have to say even though i hate to admit it.......I'm a Fashion student that follows a SAFE option when it comes to Fashion, but i do try as much as possible to follow ALL of the key trends!!

Alexander Mcqueens Shoes.......REALLY!?

(I now i should have bloged about these around 8th Oct- but lifes rushed rushed, just started Uni so i can sit down for too long becuase you never know what your guna miss!!)

I have been watching a lot of Mcqueens runway shows - which i have to say are unreall and would love to go watch one!! But the shoes....... I have no idea how the models (who are to skinny for my liking) walk in them???????? The models are sooooooo tiny compared to the shoes how do they manage to pick their feet up off the floor?

The shoes are so out of the norm they work! (they are UNREAL and i LOVE them!!!) One of the shows i like the most is the SS10. The shoes take an alien form which goes really well with the clothes- animal prints; snakes, tigers, bugs, snail trails (middel pic.)
Even though these shoes are so unusual they remind me alot of the shoe boot which i love 2!!! My favourite are the ones TopShop are doing atm the studes at the front (very in tred) but compared to Mcqueens these are much more practical for a girl/women in the normal day to day life.......Sorry Mcqueen.

Alexander Mcqueen- Sex, Raw Energy and Death

Alexander McQueen is known for both the emotional power and raw energy of the shows as well as the romantic but is overall contemporary nature of the collections.

The main belief to the McQueen culture is the juxtaposition between contrasting elements: fragility and strength, tradition and modernity and fluidity and severity. An openly emotional and even passionate viewpoint is realised with a profound respect and influence for the arts and crafts tradition.

Alexander's collections combine an in-depth working knowledge of: bespoke British tailoring, the fine workmanship of the French Haute Couture atelier and the unforgettable finish of Italian manufacturing.

What are your views and oppinions on him?
